Task: Organize the following competitions/festivals/mentorships in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan , Cameroon, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Congo Brazzaville and Gabon  to identify talents.

Making breath-taking, exciting, informative and highly marketable documentaries touching on a wide variety of issues to identify and promote talents in Mass-Communication and Photography. This project is based on the notion that one, there is so much that is so interesting from our countries that the public and the global community in general are yet to know, two there are so many idle/jobless people..especially the youth who could be imparted with basic skills in Mass-Communication and Photography and are immediately able to spend their otherwise idle time to develop documentaries that empower them information-wise and economically. National and international media houses will particularly find this interesting as they are the main recipients/buyers/markets of such documentaries for their viewers and listeners. It’s therefore expected that the media houses will quite expectedly develop interest in this project.

Organize Photography Competitions/festival. This project is based on the notion that worldwide photographs are loved (regardless of who photographed), Photographs also form a huge source of information..as they say, a photograph may speak volumes about something. Photographs are also used in a wide range of activities such as design of programs/software, advertisements, promotions, presentations, ornamentals/decoration purposes, etc. Promoting photographers is therefore important for the benefit of all in society

Target Countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan , Cameroon, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Congo Brazzaville and Gabon. Interested in working with us on this activity? If YES click here to leave a message.

  • Identify, recognize and arrange Care Exchange Programs for people with talents in ‘Caring for’ and ‘Nursing’ the sick, old and vulnerable. This talent is one of the most widely sought across the globe. People who find themselves in very difficult, painful and stressful circumstances need the attention, care and nursing from people with extremely blessed warm souls…to make them smile once more. In recognizing this unique talent, this project will center on identifying, recognizing and organizing get-together events for such people in addition to organizing, where possible, exchange programmes to enable such people interact and share the warmth of their care with the rest of the world, and where necessary connect these gifted people with situations and places where their services are highly needed.

  • Learn one-more-Language and interact with a different culture program. Languages and cultures are the passwords with which we are able to access the beauty and opportunities from a different language and culture environment. If only you could speak one more language and interact with one more culture, life becomes sweeter, exciting, opportunities knock and above all you get to a point of appreciation of your fellow men and women from different language and culture. If this takes place in a place of work, then you enjoy your work environment even better. A recent news’ bit in which the language and literature maverick Ngugi Wa Thiong’o received an award from the people of Catalonia and gave his moving speech in his native Kikuyu language is a perfect example of how languages have become  very important.

We therefore aim to organize interested people to learn one more language and culture. Currently from a Kenyan perspective, we are looking into French, Dutch, Chinese, Swahili (for non-East Africans), Spanish, Russian, German, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Indian, Arabic, Somali, Amharic, Greek, Turkish, Polish and Portuguese among others.

Appreciating food cooked from diverse cooking styles is key to our happiness and appreciating one another as the children of this global village. The programs aims at identifying personalities from different cooking backgrounds and inviting all of them to a cooking ceremony…and ofcourse inviting the tasters!

  • THIM-CEENAL program: Think-Model-Construct-Entertain and Earn a living. This project combines a number of talents together namely Creativity/innovation, use of Science and Technology to make Models (e.g. toy wooden train, car, aeroplane, etc.), Interior decorators, Metal works/Welding experts,  Building & Construction practitioners and Graphics designers. This is basically an opportunity for creative/innovative talents to come out and demonstrate their potential in conceiving ideas and turning them into realities. A talented builder can for instance conceive an innovative design of a house and go ahead to build or make a model of the same. Metal work/Welding experts can for instance conceive an idea of moulding an ornamental horse using metal and when they transform their idea into practice they come up with a fabulously looking metallic horse! We are therefore encouraging participants in this program to think creatively, transform their idea into a model, then where necessary do the actual construction/building of the product and in the process entertain those around you and finally transform the whole concept/product into a business and earn a living. We encouraging and indeed call upon interested partners to join us, support us and work with us to make this a reality for these gifted minds and hands.

  • Kenya Herbal Dawa & Supplements Talent Support Program in Kajiado County.

Long before the arrival of modern science traditional herbal medicine existed and human beings had a way of curing most of their diseases. The arrival of modern medical science came with pros and cons with regard to the wellbeing of mankind. The pros are mainly centered on the ability of modern medicine experts, aided by advanced equipment, to diagnose and effectively identify the problem. This is an advantage not so much enjoyed by traditional herbal medicine experts. However when it comes to treating the disease, modern medical and pharmaceutical experts can only rely on “others”, usually the advanced industries to make and deliver the medicine. Their job is only to dispense. But traditional herbal medicine experts had, and still have the ability to know which plants/substances had the medicine and methods of extracting it. They know medicinal plants by name, they can go into the forests and collect such plants and extract the medicinal content albeit with rudimentary extraction techniques. In traditional Africa for instance, this was a talent/expertise possessed by very few but talented people. The Maasai community was particularly revered for their ability to extract powerful herbal medicines and those with such talents were called the “Laibons”. Supporting and growing this talent of people with the ability to understand medicinal plants and extract herbal medicine that has strong curative and preventive properties is as good as taking your child to university to study medicine/pharmacy. Let’s support and empower the ‘Laibons’ to use their talents to contribute to a more healthier society.

Target Countries: Kenya.

  • Gardeners and Landscapers of the Year Contest (Garde-La-Ye-Co program)

Everybody wants to live and operate in a wonderful green, flowery,  watery and fresh air environment. How can this be possible if we do not identify and support special people amongst us who are gifted with admirable gardening and landscaping abilities. Whether it’s at home, hotels/restaurants/pubs, workplace, institutions, roads and public or private parks…we all want to interact with the best of nature. For this reason, and in particular if you admire the above described living and operating environment, let us come together to support those with Gardening and Landscaping talents. Participating contestants are encouraged to register for the program, which includes describing their current living/working environment (including geographical location), describing what they intend to do (Gardening and Landscaping project), the duration of such a project and the commitment to keep up with taking and posting photos of their project from ‘Ground zero’ (the start) to ‘Paradise’ (the end), arranging for visitations by the Judges/assessors and eventually acceptance of the conclusions made by the judges. The climax of this annual exercise will be a Garde-La-Ye-Co festival during which photos of contesting gardens/landscapes and persons will be displayed for perusal by invited guests and best performances will be Announced, Recognized and Awarded.

  • Martial Arts and Body Fitness (MA-Body Fit) Extravaganza.

Keeping fit and ability to self-defend is part and parcel of our lives. But too often we are more than lazy, not committed and disinterested in doing something about it. But amongst us we have Martial Arts and Body Fitness enthusiasts who religiously follow through. An extravaganza where they can demonstrate their expertise is in my view the best place to go for encouragement to partake of it. MA-Body Fit Extravaganza aims at organizing such an invent at regular intervals, preferably 1 to 4 times in a year. Finer details of these events can be discussed between our resource persons/staff and applicants wishing to participate.  At Talent Search Foundation we will try our best to facilitate organization of such events, recognition and awards to best performances.
